4...When I grow up I want to sell antiques & primitive & decorate homes!

5...If I would want to be anyone else it would be my sister( Cindy), she is kind, cute, & her smile goes on for miles and she is so strong emotionally & physically!

6...My favorite place to go if I am really upset is the cemetary, I go & sit on my Mother's grave it makes me
feel safe>>>>> like a big hug from her!

7.. And My last one is: I love to listen to my husband breathe, when he is sleeping!

Full Moon of February~ the Snow Moon~

Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month~

native tribes of the north and east most often called February’s full Moon~

" The Full Snow Moon"~

Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon~

since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult~

Just looking out the window at the beauty~

Still decorating~ tweaking the parlor~

Cleaning on Sunday~

Hmm~ moved my carrier~

went to the other room~

Came back~

Well, you can see someone decided to sit in it~

giggles~ he was looking out the window so fascinated~

Then I said "Pumpkin what ya doing~

giggles, look at the look he gave me~

Grumpy little boy~giggles~

I keep asking him to help me dust with his BIG tail~

But he doesn't~ giggles~

He is so Spoiled~ Rotten~

Has a mind of his own~

~ Capturing the White Stuff~

Well, what can I say~

This Gal loves Seasons~

Most years by now I don't care if I ever see the White Stuff again~

but not this year~

Tickled pink to see any of it~

We have only had 5 snowfalls so far~

Last Weekend as I was cleaning~

Looked out the back window & Wow~

Snow~

The Wind grew strong~

Gray clouds moved in~

Then it started to fall~

Within minutes~

Strongly blowing up the Valley to the Homestead~

The sky becoming white~

To the point of total white out~

Hear it~

Wind howling~

Snow hitting the buildings~

It was beautiful~

Covering the branches on the Weeping Cherry~

Old Sugar Maple~

Whipped coating on the Southwest side~

Then poof it was gone~

A little fifteen minute blast of snow~

The sky cleared~

Snow moving further north~

Pretty clouds~took my breath away~

Of course during the short storm~ Buffy watched ~

Buddy wasn't to interested~

But Gray was so fascinated~

( Gotta love the puddy cats)

This past week we hit 60 degrees & had too many warm days~

For it being end of January & the first of February~

Buds coming out on Azaleas, Hydrangeas, & Rhododendron~

Daffodils,Tulips, Hyacinths, and Crocus are all popped up~

Usually we don't see any buds or green until Mid~ March~

I keep telling my flowers, brushes & trees~

Hold off ~please it is too early~

I don't want you getting burned by cold temps~

Yesterday~

Weather forecast was 0% Precipitation~

To our suprise ~

It started falling~ temps were holding around 32 degrees~

Sticking to everything~

A very peaceful~quiet snowfall~

Covered brushes~

You could hear the snow dropping~

Power lines topped with white~

Peacefulness of a wet snowfall~

Now this looks like the beauty of Winter~

Like an Angel touched the homestead~

Can't you just smell the snow~

hmmm~ love Snow the in Winter~

Giggles~ and my Baby, Garfield, & Precious also love it~

but don't love that one might get more attention from me~

Started re-doing the Parlor~

Dust~ and more Dust~

But making progress~

New lighting from Irvins~

Love how it casts so many shadows~

Okay to back up~

We last did this room around 2000~

I was so ready for a change~

Before~

Wallpaper walls & Ceiling tile on the Ceiling~

Tore off the wallpaper~

Ceiling ripped down~

Giggles isn't this lovely~

Look you can see the old ceiling ~Wallpaper~

When we started working on the home back in 1992~

The entire home had Wallpaper on the ceiling~

Yep, just BEAUTIFUL~ giggles~

Hubby fixed up the Walls~

Put Barnsiding on the ceiling~

Yep, you heard me barnsiding~

Keeping the trim the old fashioned way~

My Great Grandparents had it all antiqued~

I think it is so pretty~ gives me a warm feeling~

All the nicks & it screams character~

Ceiling is painted white~Sherwin Williams~

Walls are painted Buttermilk~Olde Century Colors Paint~

Old carpet~ still down~

I really wanted & I mean really WANTED~

Wood~ but compromised with Hubby~

Getting Carpet again~

We like sitting & lying on the floor watching TV~

So taking comfy~

In New Franklin we have only had two snows ~

If you call it that, just light coating not even enough to cover the grass~

Temps have been rather mild~

Then earlier this week we took a dive~

Into the Teens for a couple days~

I froze!!!

Then yesterday we were in the upper 50's~

The grass is still green~

Is it really January?

Cats are all out and about~

Little Girl helping me do chores & taking pics~

She says Hello all & pet me Please~

See she even has her paw up begging~

Pretty evening last night~

Woke up to warm temps & Bright sky~

Currently here at 9am it is 44 degrees~

They are calling it Spring in January?

Hello all~

Been awhile~

Well, you can guess what we have been doing~

Scrubbing~ Sweeping~ Washing~

Decorating~

Yes, plenty of help with washing windows~

But they don't last long being clean~

Something jumps up in them?

Washing clothes~

Yep, as soon as I throw them on the floor to fold~

I have help~

A habit I never should of started~

Giggles~ but so much fun~ pulling the towels out

From underneath them~

Then the Wrestling begins~

Just have to play while working~

Cleaned up the Garage~

Still need to paint the walls~

But another "it will have to wait~"

Just love this grungy display~

Oh, the smell of fresh greens~

Smells so good getting out of the car walking into the home~

Awe~ the aroma~

Decorated outside~

Still waiting on Snowfall to make it look pretty~

Been raining like Cats & Dogs~

Ground is soaking wet~

But oh, my look at the pretty sunset last night~

I can sense the beginning of December~

Feel the leaves beneath your feet~

Crunching in the front yard~

Feel the warmth from the burning bush in the sunlight~

So Vibrant~

Oak leaves deep tan~

Smell the leaves~

Love the smell of an Oak in the fall~

Red Oak ~ rich with color~

Feel the glow from the reds mixed with browns~

A look to the south~ the woods~ almost no leaves~

See how she is just waiting on the cold air~

Preparing for the heavy snows & strong winter winds~

Few leaves left on the hill to the east~

Awe~ feel that breeze just caught me as I am walking up the valley~

Still warm as the sun shines on my back~

Up to the North~ Corn field ~

Take a Whiff~ smell the dried husks~ dried corn~

Smells like corn picking~

Northeast~ My sister's farm~

Home~ I say~ a warmth always comes upon me~

At this place I stand~ taking the picture~

I can hear nothing but Mother Nature~

This is where Grandpa Deppen thought of building the Home~

but changed his mind to keep the Home located close to the road~

So he could sell his harness~

The Stage coach would come into New Franklin~

He would work all night fixing up the harness for the next day~

Oh, but I do wish the Home would sit here~

There is such a peaceful feeling here to me~

Almost like his presence is here~

Far over East ~ Rolling hills~ farmland~farms~ woods~

Most of the Neighboring farms have also been here since mid 1800's~

Long family histories & stories~

Moon coming up over Grandpa Russell's Woods~

Just touching my soul~

Turning to the South ~ smell the woods~

Snap over the stalks~

Oh, Take another look at the Oak trees~

Pretty with the sun going down~

Listen closely~ hear~ some rustling in the woods~

Hmmm~ bet some Deer~

Venturing out to feed~

Views down the valley's~

To the Southeast~

Hills~ Woods~

Valleys~

Back to the buidlings~

Sun setting over the horizon~

I can feel the coolness of the night setting in~

Moon coming up higher over the barn~

Fresh crib of corn~

Hmmm~ this is what it is all about~

Moon~ over the Sugar Maple~

Just a few leaves hanging~

Sunset in the West~

Tranquility at the Homestead~

Oh, yes, I can see why Grandpa Deppen settled here ~
